British soprano Stephanie Hershaw is currently a soloist ensemble member at the Oldenburgisches Staatstheater, where she has quickly established herself as a dynamic and versatile performer across a wide-ranging repertoire.
Opera roles performed include Susanna and Barbarina/Le nozze di Figaro, Zerlina/Don Giovanni, Gretel/Hänsel und Gretel, Sophie/Werther, Antonia/Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Ännchen/Der Freischütz, Romilda/Xerxes, Lenio/The Greek Passion, Flora and The Governess/The Turn of the Screw, Najade/Ariadne auf Naxos, Marie/Frau Luna, Papagena/Die Zauberflöte, 2nd Niece/Peter Grimes, Lauretta/Gianni Schicchi, Kate Pinkerton/Madama Butterfly, Virtue/The Choice of Hercules, Celia/Silla, Carlotta/Bär, Suzanne/Robinson Crusoe, Amore/L’Egisto and the title role in The Cunning Little Vixen, Marie/Wozzeck (Gurlitt) and Zwangsarbeiterin/Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk.
In the 2025/26 season, Stephanie reprises the title role in The Cunning Little Vixen at the Oldenburgisches Staatstheater and makes several major role debuts, including Sophie/Werther, Antonia/Les Contes d’Hoffmann, and Marie/Wozzeck (Gurlitt). She also makes her house debut at the Staatstheater Kassel as Gretel/Hänsel und Gretel, covers Second Niece in Britten’s Peter Grimes with Opera North, and makes her concert debut at Cadogan Hall with The Mozartists.
